10 High-Quality Dividend Growth Stocks Trading Well Above Fair Value

In a recent companion article, I presented ten high-quality dividend growth stocks that are trading well below fair value. I presented 7-year yield channel charts for each stock to illustrate how the price line has moved lower to meet the undervalued yield line. This article considers the opposite scenario, presenting ten high-quality dividend growth stocks that are trading well above fair value (at least when considering current yield relative to historical yield patterns). In my view,... Read more

Dividend Increases: February 18-22, 2019 (Part 2: Real Estate And Utilities Sectors)

One way to identify dividend growth stocks for further analysis is to monitor dividend increases. Companies that regularly increase dividends show confidence in the potential growth of future earnings. I look for dividend increase announcements for stocks in the CCC List, but I use several screens to limit the number of stocks to monitor: Dividend Yield ? 1.0% Market cap ? $1 billion No stocks that are being acquired No Over-The-Counter or Pink Sheet stocks In the last week, 27... What Are The Highest Quality Dividend Growth Stocks?

About a year ago, I was surprised when I published an article on high-quality dividend growth stocks, and it went on to receive the most page views of anything I have ever published on Seeking Alpha. This is a new version of that article. Many dividend growth investors try to stick to really high-quality stocks. They prize quality as much as yield, dividend growth rate, and valuation when they are selecting stocks. There are nearly infinite ways to define quality, of course, but... Read more

Fed Policy Uncertainties Arise As Eurodollar Futures Flash Yield Curve Inversion Risk

While the Federal Reserve is widely expected to hike interest rates at its upcoming monetary policy meeting, a host of event risks could impact the direction of further rate decisions. Investors have long anticipated the Federal Reserve's Open Market Committee (FOMC) will raise U.S. interest rates by an additional 25bps at the conclusion Wednesday to its two-day monetary policy meeting. The action would mark the eighth time the Fed lifted rates since it committed to a zero-bound... Read more

The ranking process is quite involved, as I manually collect data from several sources. Prior to this... Read more

A Mathematician Plays the Stock Market

Best-selling author John Allen Paulos demonstrates what the tools of mathematics can tell us about the vagaries of the stock market. Employing his trademark stories, vignettes, paradoxes and puzzles (and even a film treatment), Paulos addresses every thinking reader's curiosity about the market: Is it efficient? Is it rational? Is there anything to technical analysis, fundamental analysis, and other supposedly time-tested methods of picking stocks? How can one quantify risk? What are the most common scams? What light do fractals, network theory, and common psychological foibles shed on investor behavior? Are there any approaches to investing that truly outperform the major indexes? Can a deeper knowledge of mathematics help beat the odds? All of these questions are explored with the engaging erudition that made Paulos's A Mathematician Reads the Newspaper and Innumeracy favorites with both armchair mathematicians and readers who want to think like them.
