Dividend Income Update July 2018

It's dividend income update time. One of my favorite times of the month as I get to review my previous month of passive income received from my dividend income portfolios. On a side note, July was the first time ever I did not reinvest my dividends. This isn't by choice, rather my broker, Capital One Financial, has stopped reinvesting all dividends until later this year when they complete their transition to E-Trade which bought them out recently. I have to admit, it kind of sucks... Read more

Jane's June Dividend Increases And Income - Retirement Accounts

Investment Thesis June marks the fourth month that I have tracked Jane's dividend income from her Traditional and Roth IRAs. Unlike the taxable account, we did not start making significant changes to her retirement accounts until after the first of the year. Because of this, there were a number of stocks in her retirement accounts that didn't register their first dividend until April or May. Now that the majority of companies are seasoned, we are seeing a steady stream of dividend... Read more

John And Jane: June Dividend Income Tracker - Taxable Account

Investment Thesis June marks the eighth month that John and Jane have been receiving consistent dividend income from their Taxable portfolio. June was a slower month for the Taxable portfolio in that only two companies paid increased dividends. As a reminder for readers, I continue to use this series to document John and Jane's success with the long-term goal of creating a database that can be used for monthly and year-over-year (YoY) comparisons that demonstrate to readers the power... Jane's May Dividend Income Tracker - Retirement Accounts

Investment Thesis May marks the third month that I have tracked Jane's dividend income from her Traditional and Roth IRAs. Unlike the taxable account, we did not start making significant changes to her retirement accounts until after the first of the year. Because of this, there were a number of stocks in her retirement accounts that didn't register their first dividend until April or May. Going forward, we should see a lot more consistency from the dividends produced in Jane's... Read more

John And Jane: May Dividend Income Tracker - Taxable Account

Investment Thesis May marks the seventh month that John and Jane have had a well-established concentration of stocks in their taxable portfolio. A total of seven stocks in the taxable portfolio delivered increased dividend payments during the month of May. As I continue to document John and Jane's success, my long-term goal is to create a database that allows for year-over-year (YoY) comparisons that demonstrate the power and simplicity of dividend investing. In addition to documenting... Read more

Jane's April Dividend Income Tracker - Retirement Accounts

Investment Thesis April marks the second month that I have tracked Jane's dividend income from her Traditional and Roth IRAs. Unlike the taxable account, we did not start making significant changes to Jane's retirement accounts until after the first of the year. Because of this, there are a number of stocks in Jane's retirement accounts that are now registering their first dividend payment since Jane's stock purchases have become seasoned. I've decided to write... Read more

John And Jane - April Dividend Income Tracker - Taxable Account

Investment Thesis April marks the sixth month that John and Jane have had a well-established concentration of stocks in their taxable portfolio. A total of five stocks in the taxable portfolio delivered increased dividend payments during the month of April. As I continue to document John and Jane's success my long-term goal is to create a database that allows for year-over-year (YoY) comparisons that demonstrate the power and simplicity of dividend investing. In addition to documenting... Read more

Dividend Income Update: April 2018

It's dividend income update time. One of my favorite times of the month as I get to review my previous month of passive income received from my dividend income portfolios. Without rehashing the wild ride we experienced in the market last month, I could find comfort in one thing, my dividends. As we all know, the market may move up and down irrationally and seemingly on a whim while our dividends remain much more stable, reliable and predictable. Sure, dividends may not increase every... Jane's March Dividend Income Tracker - Retirement Accounts

Investment Thesis March marks the first month that I have tracked Jane's dividend income from her Traditional and Roth IRAs. Unlike the taxable account, we did not start making significant changes to Jane's retirement accounts until after the first of the year. Because of this, there are a number of stocks in Jane's retirement accounts that have yet to pay a dividend but this trend will quickly change as more of Jane's stock purchases become seasoned. I've decided to... Read more

John And Jane - March Dividend Income Tracker - Taxable Account

Investment Thesis March marks the fifth month that John and Jane have had a well-established concentration of stocks in their taxable portfolio. A total of two stocks in the taxable portfolio delivered increased dividend payments during the month of March. As I continue to document John and Jane success my long-term goal is to create a database that allows for year-over-year (YoY) comparisons that demonstrate the power and simplicity of dividend investing.
